UM, YOU KNOW, UH, THERE'S NOT A WHOLE LOT TO SAY ABOUT CARGO AT THIS STAGE.

I MEAN, WE'RE CONTINUING TO MOVE EVERYTHING WE CAN.

UH, YOU KNOW, I NOTICED THE WIND IS, IS, UH, IS DOING PRETTY WELL.

UM, YOU KNOW, A GENERAL CARGO IS UP, UM, ABOUT THE ONLY THING UP TODAY, BUT I MEAN, IT'S, IT'S, WE'RE MOVING A LOT OF WIND THROUGH HERE.

SO I THINK IT'S, UM, YOU KNOW, WE'RE STILL KEEPING OUR HEADS ABOVE WATER AND UNTIL WHILE WE'RE DOING ALL THIS CONSTRUCTION.

UM, SO I THINK THAT, UH, WE'LL CONTINUE TO SEE THAT THROUGH THE END OF THE YEAR AND MAYBE IN THE FIRST QUARTER OF NEXT YEAR.

WE DO HAVE A LOT OF, UM, INTEREST FROM OUR EXISTING CUSTOMERS AND, AND STEVEDORES UH, PLANNING TOWARDS THE FUTURE.

'CAUSE THERE WE'RE, YOU KNOW, WE'RE GETTING, WE FEEL LIKE WE'RE GETTING CLOSER AND CLOSER TO, UM, HAVING THOSE PERMITS OPEN.

UM, HERE'S THE ACTUAL NUMBERS BACKING EVERYTHING UP.

UH, WE SEE WHERE WE'RE DOWN ABOUT 20% OVERALL.

BUT, UH, HERE AGAIN, I I, I THINK JUST EXPLAIN THE SITUATION THE CRUISE BUSINESS IS, IS DOING.

WELL.

I MEAN, YOU KNOW, AND HERE WE'RE REALLY EXCITED ABOUT HEADING INTO THIS, UH, THIS TIME OF THE YEAR BECAUSE WE DO GET A LOT OF A BIG SPIKE.

UM, YOU KNOW, AND WE'VE HAD TWO SHIPS COME IN WITH CARNIVAL, AS YOU'VE SEEN.

UM, WE HAD THE FIRST ONE LEAVE HERE, IT WAS YESTERDAY.

IT'S NICE TO SEE A TWO TRUE SHIP DAY ON MONDAY.

UM, AND I THINK ONE OF THE THINGS THAT WE'RE GONNA SEE HERE MORE IN THE FUTURE IS MORE SHIPS DURING THE WEEK, WHICH IS, WHICH IS EXCITING, WHICH IS REALLY UTILIZING YOUR ASSETS.

AND SO I THINK WE'RE STILL, UH, RUNNING GOOD, GOOD SHIP HERE ON, ON THE CRUISE BUSINESS, UM, HERE AT THE SHIP, UM, AS A, UH, LAYOUT OF THE CARGO CREWS AND LAY BUSINESS YOU SEE A LITTLE BIT BELOW, UH, LAST YEAR.

BUT I MEAN, YOU CAN SEE WHY.

I MEAN, IT'S MOSTLY THE CARGO SHIPS, BUT IN, UH, THE, UH, SHIPS, AS MARK POINTED OUT, WE'RE FOR SPACE A RIGHT NOW, BUT WE CAN GET BACK THERE.

UM, HERE'S THE FINANCIALS THAT MARK'S ALREADY GONE OVER.

UM, YEAR TO DATE CASH FLOW, WHICH IS VERY, UH, GOOD TELLTALE

SITUATION OF WHERE WE ARE THROUGH OCTOBER, I MEAN THROUGH SEPTEMBER.

UM, YOU CAN SEE WE'RE SPENDING $140 MILLION IN, IN, IN OUR FOUR MAJOR PROJECTS.

AND, AND THEN I HAD TALK ABOUT WHAT'S HAPPENING, AND WE'LL GET INTO THE PROJECTS HERE IN A SECOND.

BUT WHAT'S HAPPENING DOWN THERE AT, UH, PIER 19 AND, AND THOSE AND, AND THAT CONSTRUCTION.

UM, RIGHT NOW, THE, WITH THE KIND GOVERNMENT ON HOLD, IT'S, WE'RE, WE'RE, WE'RE ON HOLD.

AND SO WE'RE CONTINUING TO WATCH WHAT WE'VE DONE.

YOU CAN SEE THE ABOVE THE LINE THERE, ALL THE, ALL THE GRANTS THAT WE'VE SUBMITTED FOR.

UM, AND THEN, UH, YOU KNOW, BLOW DOWN FURTHER, YOU CAN SEE THE EDA ROLLING GRANTS.

WE'RE NOT ACTIVE IN THAT RIGHT NOW.

I MEAN, WE ARE ALWAYS WATCHING FOR SITUATIONS THAT MIGHT, UH, JUMP UP.

UM, AND HERE'S THE, UH, HERE'S THE GRANTS THAT WE'VE RECEIVED AND, UM, WHERE THE STATUS OF ALL THOSE, YOU KNOW, RUNNING CONSTRUCTIONS ON SOME OF 'EM.

WE'RE GETTING ENGINEERING GOING AND WE'RE IN DESIGN.

AND, UH, YOU KNOW, SO THERE'S A COUPLE OF THINGS THAT WE DID JUST, UH, WE JUST DID TO HAVE OUR INITIAL MEETINGS ON THE WAY FINDING, WHICH WE RECEIVED THE 1.6 MILLION.

UM, AND, AND WE'RE FURTHER DEFINING WHAT, WHAT THAT MEANS, WHERE WE CAN USE THE WAY FINDING MONIES.

IT CAN ONLY BE INSIDE THE PORT, IT CAN BE ON THE EDGE OF THE PORT OR WHERE.

SO THOSE ARE THE KIND OF THE FINE LINES THAT WE HAVE WITH THE, YOU KNOW, AT THE BEGINNING, UH, CONVERSATIONS WITH, UH, WITH XI.

UM, YOU CAN SEE A COUPLE MORE SECURITY GRANTS.

UM, WE DID RECEIVE, UH, MONEY FROM THE, ON THE, FROM THE SECURITY GRANTS.

UH, THOSE, THOSE WERE JUST ANNOUNCED.

AND SO IT, IT, SO THERE'S USUALLY THIS LITTLE LAG BETWEEN THE TIME YOU GET AWARDED THESE AND YOU GET TO THE, TO THE MEETINGS AND, AND, YOU KNOW, HAVE THE CONVERSATIONS ABOUT WHERE YOU'RE GOING WITH THOSE.

UM, HERE'S A COUPLE, HERE'S THE PORT SECURITY GRANTS.

AGAIN, YOU KNOW, THESE, YOU KNOW, WHAT HAPPENS TO THESE PORT SECURITY GRANTS.

BASICALLY, YOU, WHEN YOU GET 'EM, YOU HAVE ALMOST ABOUT, I THINK THREE YEARS TO COMPLETE THEM.

AND, UH, YOU KNOW, SO WE'RE ALL, ALL THE TIME RUNNING TWO OR THREE OR FOUR SECURITY GRANTS AT THE SAME TIME.

UM, SO THAT'S KIND OF HOW WE BUILD UP OUR, OUR CAMERA SYSTEM, OUR SAFETY AND A LOT OF THINGS.

THESE ARE A COUPLE OTHER GRANTS TOO THAT WE'RE, UM, YOU KNOW, THAT WE'VE BEEN AWARDED.

UM, YOU KNOW, WE'RE LOOKING FOR GUIDANCE ON SOME OF 'EM.

AND AS I SAID, LIKE HGAC, WE, WE STARTED THAT.

WE SELECTED WHO'S GONNA DO THAT? AND, AND, AND, AND WE'VE ACTUALLY COMBINED THE TWO GRANTS.

HGAC GAVE US TWO GRANTS.

ONE WAS FOR THE OVERHEAD HIGHWAY FROM 45.

AND THEN THE OTHER ONE WAS THE, THE, THE, UH, THE INTERNAL ROAD NETWORK AT THE, AT THE END, OR THE WEST SIDE OF OUR PROPERTY, WHICH WAS BASICALLY, UM, OUT OUTSIDE OF OUR PROPERTY.

SO THAT'S WHY WE HAVE THIS GRANT IS TO STUDY RIGHT AWAY AND THINGS.

AND SO WHAT WE DID, UH, WITH THE ADVICE OF TEXT THAT WE'RE DOING THESE, YOU KNOW, EVEN THOUGH H C'S FUNDING THESE THINGS, THAT THEY'RE REALLY, UH, WORKING CLOSELY WITH TEXTILE ON THESE.

AND SO WE COMBINED THOSE TWO GRANTS JUST MAKES A LOT OF SENSE TO WORK BOTH THOSE GRANTS AT THE SAME TIME.

'CAUSE TECHNICALLY, YOU KNOW, HOPEFULLY WHEN IT ALL SAID AND DONE, THEY'RE GOING TO, THEY'RE GONNA MEET EACH OTHER.

UM, BICENTENNIAL UPDATE, I MEAN, WHAT DO YOU SAY, 300,000 TEXAS A AND M, WHICH MADE ME SO PROUD.

AND, UM, IT REALLY MADE ALL THE HARD WORK THAT WE HAD GETTING THAT THING PULLED TOGETHER, WHICH, YOU KNOW, AND KATHY CATHOLICS HERE DID A FANTASTIC JOB.

AND, AND KUDOS CONTINUE WHEREVER WE GO AROUND TOWN.

EVERYBODY'S, YOU KNOW, IS SAYING IT'S BEST EVENT THEY'VE ATTENDED AND THOSE KIND OF THINGS.

NO TAX OR PUBLIC DOLLARS AT ALL.

AND WE'RE STILL LOCKED, DONE.

WE'RE NOW GOING THROUGH THE FINAL ACCOUNTING, UM, AND BOOK SALES.

UM, WE'RE DOING A BOOK SIGNING TOMORROW NIGHT, I THINK IT IS.

AND WE'RE ACTUALLY GONNA HAVE A BOOTH AT THE HGA, THE, UH, GEDP CONFERENCE TOMORROW.

UM, AND WE'VE, WE'VE HAD A LOT OF WORK.

UM, SO I THINK THIS IS THIS WHERE WE'RE GONNA DO THE LITTLE VIDEO.

AND HERE'S SOME OF THE PROCUREMENT PROJECTS WE'RE WORKING ON AT, THESE ARE ALL MOSTLY RELATED TO, UH, WE HAD A COMPENSATION STUDY, UM, GOING, UH, GETTING READY TO, UH, BE APPROVED, I THINK.

UM, AND THEN WE'RE GOING OUT FOR THE BROKERAGE SERVICES ON OUR INSURANCE POLICIES.

AND, UH, ONE OF THE THINGS WE'LL TALK ABOUT TODAY IS, UM, NOT ONE OF MY FAVORITE SUBJECTS, BUT IS THE, UM, SPOILS AREA.

AND IT'S ONE OF THOSE, THOSE NEEDED EXPENSES, UM, THAT, YOU KNOW, UM, I DON'T, WHEN THEY COME IN AND START TALKING TO ME ABOUT THAT, I, YOU KNOW, IT'S, IT'S A LOT OF DIRT AND, UH, YOU KNOW, BUT, YOU KNOW, OBVIOUSLY WE HAVE TO HAVE IT'S IMPORTANT DIRT.

SO WE'RE GONNA TALK ABOUT THIS, UH, THIS EXCAVATOR.

UM, AND DO WE DO, IT'S A BIG DOLLAR NUMBER, BUT DO WE, DO WE TAKE THIS ON OR WE CONTINUE TO RENT? YOU KNOW, THIS IS THE DECISION THAT, YOU KNOW, I WANTED US TO DISCUSS TOGETHER WHETHER OR NOT WE SPEND A LOT OF MONEY AND BUY THIS EQUIPMENT FOR, UH, CONTINUE TO RENT IT.

PARKING AND GROUND TRANSPORTATION CONTINUES.

WHAT CAN YOU SAY? I MEAN, I, I SAY THIS EVERY MEETING AND JUST IN AWE OF, OF THE PARKING AND, AND TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT AND, YOU KNOW, HOW ORGANIZED WHO JULIO HAS THEM.

AND, UM, YOU KNOW, AS, AS WE MOVE INTO ANOTHER TERMINAL AND NOW WE HAVE A NEW ASSET, A NEW PARKING GARAGE THAT HAS TO BE MANAGED.

AND, UM, SO I'M, I'M SUPER PROUD OF THIS, THIS GROUP AND WHAT THEY'RE DOING.

UM, GALVESTON HARBOR, HERE'S THE, THE, THE DREDGING UPDATE.

I MEAN, I GUESS WE'RE RESTRICTED RIGHT NOW TO 44 FEET.

UM, YOU KNOW, ONE OF THE THINGS IN HERE KIND OF FEEDS RIGHT INTO WHAT, WHAT I JUST WAS TALKING ABOUT, THE, THE SPOILS AREA.

UM, YOU KNOW, THIS IS, THIS CONTINUES TO BE AN ISSUE HERE LOCALLY FOR US.

UM, AND UNFORTUNATELY

AND THEN BY THE END OF SUMMER NEXT YEAR, WE'LL BE, UH, HAVE ANOTHER FULL MAINTENANCE BUDGET.

UM, THE PROJECTS OUR FAVORITE PROJECT, WHICH IS NOT MY FAVORITE PROJECT 'CAUSE I'VE BEEN TALKING ABOUT TOO LONG .

UM, SO YEAH, ON THE CRUISE NUMBER 25 WALKWAY, UH, IMPROVEMENT PROJECT, UH, WE'RE, WE'RE BASICALLY WRAPPING UP THOSE DESIGN CHANGES.

UH, AND WE'RE GONNA BE POSTING THAT, THAT, UH, SOLICITATION HERE SHORTLY IN NOVEMBER FOR, FOR, TO TO GO BACK OUT FOR BIDS ON THAT ONE.

UM, AND SEE, SEE WHERE WE'RE COMING AT.

JEFF, CAN YOU JUST BRIEFLY TELL WHAT THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WHAT WE DID BEFORE AND WHERE WE ARE NOW? UH, YEAH, NO, I MEAN, HONESTLY, SO, SO THERE WAS A LOT OF THINGS THAT COULD HAVE CHANGED.

UM, ONE OF THE THINGS WE CHOSE NOT TO DO IS CHANGE THE LOOK OF IT.

WE COULD HAVE CHANGED THE LOOK OF IT, BUT I THINK EVERYONE KIND OF BOUGHT INTO HOW IT LOOKS AND HAVING NICER FINISHES ON IT.

SO WE CHOSE NOT TO DO THAT.

THE OTHER THING WE COULD HAVE CHOSE TO DO WAS REMOVE VERTICAL CIRCULATION EQUIPMENT.

AND WE COULD HAVE SAVED A LOT OF MONEY THAT WAY, BUT WE FELT THAT THAT'S REALLY THE PURPOSE FOR IT, IS TO MOVE PEOPLE UP AND OVER.

AND SO WE DIDN'T WANT TO, UM, UH, CUT THAT.

SO, SO WHAT WE ENDED UP DOING WITH, UH, JUST OVER $50,000 WE SPENT ON ADDITIONAL DESIGN WORK WAS WE LOOKED AT, UH, TRIMMING BACK, UH, SOME OF THE CIVIL IMPROVEMENTS, UM, THAT, THAT, THAT WE DID.

WE ALSO, YOU KNOW, THERE'S GONNA BE PAVERS THAT WERE GONNA BE INSTALLED.

WE WENT BACK WITH CONCRETE SIDEWALKS INSTEAD OF PAVERS.

UM, AND, UH, THOSE ALONG WITH SOME, WE SAT DOWN WITH, UH, UM, ONE OF THE BIDDERS AND, AND WENT THROUGH SOME OF THE THINGS THAT, THAT, THAT WERE KIND OF STICKLERS AS THEY WERE PUTTING TOGETHER THE BID ON IT.

ONE WAS, YOU KNOW, SOME, UH, OPENING UP BID SPEC ON A COUPLE OF ITEMS LIKE, UH, UH, LIGHTING, MAKING SURE WE HAD IN THE SPECIFICATION A DIFFERENT SOURCE SO THEY COULD GET BETTER COMPETITION WHEN GETTING THEIR SUB SUBCONTRACTS IN, IN PLACE.

ALSO, UH, ONE OF THE THINGS WAS, IS, IS LOOKING AT TRYING TO SIMPLIFY SOME OF THE FLOOD, UH, ELEMENTS.

LIKE THERE WAS A LOT OF FLOOD WALLS THAT WERE INSTALLED, AND WE WERE TRYING TO REDUCE THE AMOUNT OF REMOVABLE FLOOD WALLS AND PUT IN CONCRETE WALLS INSTEAD.

UM, AND SO, SO LITTLE THINGS LIKE THAT IS WHAT WE WERE FOCUSING ON DURING THIS REDESIGN EFFORT.

AND, UM, OUR, OUR, OUR GOAL IS TO, TO, TO, UM, AT, AT LEAST BRING THE PROJECT DOWN BY A MILLION DOLLARS BY SPENDING THAT 50,000, HOPEFULLY EVEN MORE.

UM, BUT, BUT THAT'S, THAT'S KIND OF WHAT, WHAT OUR GOAL'S BEEN.

UH, COULD YOU EXPAND ON THE, UH, THIS ADDITIONAL EFFORT WILL BE FUNDED THROUGH THE EXISTING CONSTRUCTION ADMINISTRATION FEES, CORRECT? YEAH, SO, SO, UM, IN, IN THE EXISTING CONTRACT WITH, UH, UH, BA THEY HAD, UH, I BELIEVE THERE WAS LIKE ABOUT A HALF A MILLION DOLLARS FOR WORTH OF CONSTRUCTION ADMINISTRATION FUNDS THAT WE HADN'T GOTTEN TO CONSTRUCTION YET, SO WE COULDN'T UTILIZE.
